Greystoke: Excellence By Design

Greystoke Homes & Support Services Inc. began in 1990 with a mandate to offer new choices for persons with limited physical, behavioural, developmental and/or cognitive abilities in the Lethbridge area. Greystoke has evolved into three (3) distinct departments: Residential Nursing (Home Care), Residential and Community Services, and our Children’s Program.      Although the company has grown phenomenally, our basic goals and guiding philosophy have remained the same…

Philosophy Driven, Goal Centered

Greystoke Homes & Support Services Inc. recognizes every person, regardless of circumstances, is a unique individual having worth, strengths, and needs. Every person isentitled to live life in a way that fully acknowledges their individuality and right to be treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect.      Our philosophy is that persons with limited physical, behavioural, developmental and/or cognitive abilities will benefit more from a home and community-based lifestyle than from tradional institutional isolation.      This philosophy drives us to provide persons served with as normal a life as possible in an environment that offers the very best in social, physical, spiritual, and academic support.

The Difference? Our People!

Greystoke Homes & Support Services Inc. makes every effort to create a supportive, positive environment that meets or exceeds established standards and encourages development. Our team consists of qualified staff trained to deliver services in a respectful, courteous manner. Many have experience in the field, college diplomas, or relevant certification and are dedicated professionals.  Committed to delivering quality care and the best possible service, we are constantly striving to have the right person, in the right place, at the right time to meet the needs of persons served. As part of our process in monitoring and respondong to current and emerging needs, Greystoke fosters and promotes participation in appropriate mandatory, in-service, and other training to develop and enhance understanding, increase knowledge, and ensure competencies necessary to maintain current positions, update expertise, and meet or exceed quality and specific skill level requirements.  Ongoing communication is an important element to any service evaluation and improvement plan. We welcome feedback as a tool for communicating useful and constructive information to assist us as we conduct ourselves in a sincere, supportive, and responsive manner.

Caring is OUR Profession

Professionalism is an attitude and behaviour expected from all stafff representing Greystoke. As an agency, we have two basic requirements:

  • The people we serve will receive the best possible care, and
  • This care will be delivered in a manner that maintains respect for the dignity and value of all the persons served.

See For Yourself

Persons served are entitled to receive structured support for positive care, development and growth. Each of the people we serve has a custom-tailored service plan. These plans are designed for flexibility to accommodate personal growth and development to the extent that persons served are able and willing.      Most plans fall under these categories:

  • Residential Placements
  • Tenant Support
  • Child/Youth Programs
  • Group Homes
  • Day Programs/Vocational Program
  • Community Aide
  • Home Care
  • Respite

Persons served live in their own homes or in a family setting consistent with their requirements. This allows them to observe and participate in a community-based lifestyle with privacy and dignity while receiving individualized care.
